  • Pathway Intermediates Presented Latest Broiler Study at the 30th International Conference Krmiva 2025 in Croatia
  • 2025-07-09

Pathway Intermediates Limited participated in the 30th International Conference Krmiva 2025 held in Opatija, Croatia, as an invited speaker. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Krmiva has become a key platform for knowledge exchange among scientists and experts in animal feeding and feed production technologies. The conference gathered leading academic and industry representatives from across Europe, with particular emphasis on the Balkan region.

On the third day of the event, Matthew Oldnall (Technical and Sales Manager Europe of Pathway Intermediates Limited) delivered an oral presentation on the effect of lysophospholipids at different levels in low-energy diets for broiler chickens. His presentation was based on the latest Lipidol Prime study conducted by the University of Pretoria.

The study evaluated the dose-dependent impact of Lipidol Prime in broiler diets with an aggressive energy reduction of 200 kcal below the Ross 308 nutritional guideline. All experimental diets included typical supplements and coccidiostats to reflect practical commercial feeding conditions.

The results demonstrated a statistically significant linear improvement in final body weight, average daily gain, and feed conversion ratio as the inclusion rate of Lipidol Prime increased from 60 g/t to 350 g/t in low-energy diets. Notably, diets containing 150–350 g/t of Lipidol Prime effectively mitigated the negative growth impacts of reduced dietary energy and achieved comparable growth performance to birds fed a standard energy diet. Furthermore, birds fed the low-energy diets with Lipidol Prime at minimal oil levels exceeded the Ross 308 performance objectives.

Matthew also emphasised that Lipidol Prime serves not only as a tool for oil replacement but also as an effective strategy for energy replacement by optimising energy contribution from other feed ingredients.

Pathway Intermediates remains committed to advancing scientific research and providing innovative nutritional solutions to the global livestock industry.
